ना रब्ब अर्श मुअल्ला उत्ते
ना रब्ब खाने काबे - हु
ना रब्ब इल्म किताबी लब्भा
ना रब्ब विच महराबे - हु
गंगा तीरथ मूल ना मिल्या
पैंदे बे-हिसाबे - हु
जद दा मुर्शद मिल्या बाहु
छुट्टे सब अज़ाबे - हु

Neither is God above the highest heaven
nor is God in the Ka’ba - He!
neither was God found in bookish knowledge
nor is God in the mosque’s niche - He!
(even) on pilgrimage to the Ganges,
the source was not found
(despite) going measureless distances - He!
when the Guide was found by Bahu
over were all the torments - He!

किस से सीखू मैं खुदा की बंदगी,
सब लोग खुदा के बँटवारे किए बैठे है,
जो लोग कहते है खुदा कण कण में है,
वही मंदिर, मस्जिद, गुरूद्वारे लिए बैठे हैं !

Mohabbat ek jazbaa-e-junoon hai
kaale baadal se chan ke aati sard mausam ki dhoop hai
mehroom nahi is-se banda koi
fir bhi saaqi se malaal kiye jaata hai..

Our body is the Bodhi-tree,
And our mind a mirror bright.
Carefully we wipe them hour by hour,
And let no dust alight.

There is no Bodhi-tree,
Nor stand of a mirror bright.
Since all is void,
Where can the dust alight?

Let him speak the truth ; let him not yield to anger ;
Let him give when asked, even from the little he has !
